I earned my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where I focused on molecular mechanisms related to host-virus interactions.
My research interests center on host-pathogen interactions, immunology, and immune recognition. In the LI-IDImmune Lab, I am interested in how phagocytes recognize microbes as well as damaged, dying, or dead cells. One focus of my work is to understand how phagosomes formed during efferocytosis help decode death-associated signals. I am also interested in applying PhagoPL to study host-bacteria interactions, with the goal of identifying novel mechanisms of innate immune sensing and host-bacterial virulence counteraction.
Outside the lab, I enjoy watching movies and hiking.
